As many of you know, DivaDance is not my “day job”. I have a hectic, demanding career as a manager in the music industry. It’s a very consuming, fast-paced, and stressful!. Last minute travel, tons of egos, and I sleep with my iPhone under my pillow (true story). Needless to say, it’s easy to get burned out…..
I turn to self-help books and articles when I’m feeling the burn coming on (I’m a dork, yes). I recently read a blog entry encouraging you to figure out your NNT if you want to avoid burnout – that’s Non-Negotiable Time. Time in your day for habits that are there to preserve sanity and wellbeing – mentally and physically. For some it’s yoga, some it’s meditation, some it’s smoothies. It got me thinking – what’s my NNT?
For me it’s SWEATING EVERY DAY. Be it through DivaDance, spin class, walking in the park, riding my bike – it’s NON-NEGOTIABLE that I sweat EVERY day. I feel better, I look better, I am just better.
