It is almost the end of February and it is (hopefully soon) warming up! Are you “cooling down” on those New Year Resolutions that you made? This is the time when gyms start seeing those cancellations rolling in and people begin to forget or shrug off those resolutions we made – be it physical, spiritual, financial. Well, NOT US! Whether you’re kicking ass and taking names, or need a little extra oomph, here are a few questions to check in with yourself on to keep you (or get you) on track!
1) Are my goals realistic?
You know yourself best – you know what you’re good at, what you’re bad at, and what comes easily to you. Reexamine your goals you set at the beginning of the year, and make sure they are realistic. Did you say you will work out 6 days a week? Did you say you will wake up early every morning? If the answer is “these aren’t realistic” then you know how to tweak so you can get back on track.
2) Can you take ONE small step this week?
Remember things in motion stay in motion. Can you take ONE small step this week towards that objective you’ve set? For example, rather than working out 6 days, maybe decide this week you’re going to pop into ONE Dance & Sweat class with us? Next thing you know, you’re on a roll and suddenly you’ve worked out X amount of days in a row. Momentum creates momentum!
3) Are you being too hard on yourself?
Are you the kind of gal that is “all or nothing” – either you accomplished the goal or you failed it? That is being too hard on yourself and isn’t giving yourself enough credit for the “in between” – where in fact a lot of great action lies! OK so you didn’t pay off your credit cards in full this month – but you paid more than the minimum AND you didn’t add any new charges? Hello! That’s still something to be proud of. You’re making good decisions and well on your way to a zero balance.
You got this, girl! HIGH FIVE! BOOTY PAT!
We’d love to see you at class soon! Check our class schedule for the latest info.
